Nodal Power Announces a Pilot Project with Marathon Digital Holdings to Mine Bitcoin From Renewable Landfill Gas

Nodal Power, a company that develops and operates renewable energy assets announces today a pilot program with Marathon Digital Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:MARA), a leader in supporting and securing the Bitcoin ecosystem, to launch a 280 kW Bitcoin mining pilot project in Utah that is exclusively powered by landfill methane gas. The pilot project is currently fully energized and operational.

Marathon is working with Nodal Power to validate the option to mine Bitcoin using methane gas from landfills, a model Nodal has successfully deployed across two active landfill sites. This project is part of a larger effort by Marathon to find ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and use renewable energy to power its Bitcoin miners.

Nodal Power has been operating the 1.6 MW off-grid renewable energy site for months and now have Nodal and Marathon bitcoin miners running in the on-site datacenter.
